India is a land of varied traditions and culture. This large country comprises of 28 states where each state has its own culture, language or dialects, cuisine, festivals, costume, etc. The lifestyle of people in India changes with the change in geographic location. In general, people of India believe in living their lives to the fullest. No month of the year passes in India without the celebrations of a festival. Holi, Deepawali, Id, Janmasthmi, Chistmas, Dusshera are the major festivals that are celebrated in India with great zeal and enthusiasm. People give gifts and sweets to their friends and relatives on the occasion of these festivals.

People in India are religious by nature and believe in supernatural powers of God. In the past 5000 years, India has seen flourishing of a number of religions on its land. Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism, Jainism, Islam and Christianity are the major religions of India. People are free to practice and follow any religion as per their belief and faith. At the same time, they live in perfect harmony with people of other religions.
